Every year more and more Americans are traveling internationally — for mission trips, adoptions, vacation, business, and to visit friends and family. Whatever your reason for traveling outside the US, you need to protect your health by receiving appropriate vaccinations and information for the specific areas you plan on visiting.

Ideally, you should schedule your appointment 4 to 6 months before your trip and let us africaknow in which countries you will be traveling. Many immunizations take time to become effective in your body and some vaccines must be given in a series over a period of days, weeks or even months. If it is less than 4 weeks before you leave, you should still come to see us as you can benefit from some travel immunizations or medications as well as information about how to protect yourself from illness and injury while traveling.

Please allow ample time for your appointment as we provide a comprehensive pre-travel consultation for region specific travel. If you are traveling with a group, GracePointe Healthcare can provide your entire group with their immunizations at your group location (except Yellow Fever which must be given in our office). We also offer group consultations at your location to educate your group on how to stay healthy while traveling to your particular destination.

We also offer preventative medications, prescriptions and travel products as well as post-travel illness testing/evaluations.

In addition to the required immunizations for the particular area you are visiting, you will need to be up to date on your routine immunizations. Please bring your current immunization record to your appointment.

Payment is expected at time of service and you may, if you have insurance, submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. Routine immunizations may be covered by insurance but travel immunizations are generally not covered by insurance.
